The Gallipot Inn
The Gallipot first opened its doors for business back in 1597, when Queen Elizabeth was still on the throneand William Shakespeares renowned Romeo and Juliet was first printed. The building was originally three Tudor cottages, combined to make one beautiful, classic dwelling. The Inn derives its name from the small, glazed earthenware pots, used for medicines and ointments, that were produced in one of the three cottages. Since the end of January 2007, Stuart and Gemma Lawson have run The Gallipot Inn, staying true to its traditional 16th Century feel. On arrival youll be greeted by beautiful aged oak beams and a warm welcome, but the real beauty of The Gallipot is the large garden to the rear. From May 2007 you can enjoy our newly decked garden with views across the stunning East Sussex countryside, we offer excellent facilities not to be missed..
