The fairways have been cut through a profusion of heather and gorse and, according to Peter Alliss, the 16th tee provides ‘the best view in golf’.Thanks to its excellent drainage the course is rarely closed due to rain, though, occasionally, a mist rolls in from the Channel, and so checking the local weather forecast is advisable, particularly if travelling any distance to play the course. .
